Ah, thought this was confirmed.
Speculation:
Nah, unless they're going for some kind "shocking twist" with Anne learning about Terapagos and then coincidentally being used for Aoki, I really don't think they'll do this at all. I just think she would have gotten more face value and hype if that was the plan, unless of course, it's meant to be a huge twist or build up to anything. I honestly would just rather the gym leaders/E4 be solely used for the Horizons trio.
Yeah, this is it. Gym Leader that doubles as Elite Four. It's obvious asf because we played the games but it's going to be a "shock" that he plays both roles. It plays into his "overworked businessman" aesthetic.
Wouldn't adding Ann to the mix actually even things out.

Welp, the only move Liko can use here to do super effective damage here is Clodsire is mud slap which isn't happening lol. She'll probably get something like petal blizzard since it was foreshadowed a bit.
Terastal aside, quaxly also has no super effective moves against its opponent so its not a unique issue.

Between this and Larry officially being announced for Masters last night, most of my social media feed is just fan art of him (and Kabu/the rest of the E4). Not nearly as crazy about the character as most people seem to be but I’m still glad he’s getting a lot of attention. Can’t wait to see how they animate their aces fighting especially Baxcailbur.
And Tinkaton too, Next Friday will be absolute insane, also excited for Baxcal too,

Can’t wait for Tinkaton too. Both it and Bax were on my in game team and were my heaviest hitters besides my starter. Already got to see most of my team animated in this arc alone which is cool.

My biggest complaint about all of this is that they're STILL focusing on their starters.
I desperately hope their 2nd mons get to do some battles.

Wonder if Liko will get a win here, maybe unlikely, since it's a Elite Four member, but she's paired with a Gym leader so, who knows?
Also, PLEASE Floragato, learn a new move! And a move that isn't just "make a bigger quantity of leaves appear" again.

Not really because once Clodsire terrastralize if will become weak to grass.

Interesting, the part of about "realizing how fun battling is for real" so could this imply some development in Liko potentially liking Pokemon battling vs. just doing it out of fulfilling her errand/responsibility to Terapagos?
NVM.
I think the summary probably refers to her lesson from Kaede, where she learned she didn't need a practice match to "Terastal" before her real Terastal examination. In the end, she puts her heart into it and Terastallizes Nyarote after encouraging it to focus on fighting together and having fun. Hence the portion about Terastallizing against Chili. Declaring herself a battle-rat would have been an interesting status quo change, though.
That makes sense. The kids will reflect on the lessons they learned through these battles, especially since Clavel inquired about them. Roy will demonstrate his ability to look for more clues in combat against Hassaku, possibly dealing with field or weather issues. Dot will show her ability to dazzle and battle without overthinking, handling situations where things don't go her way and acting more on the fly.

It would, I'm just not seeing a narrative reason for them to do it.
As of yet.
Aoki appears, smokes Anne and that's just that....?
I just think the surprise is Aoki is too busy working right now so he's not present, because he's an overworked wage slave who also is forced to run a gym and maintain the Elite Four. Probably too busy doing some kid's terastal exam.

Assuming we want coverage (So not grass) and want it to do damage without weird requirements like fling the options are
Level Up:
Bite
U-Turn (Unlikely unless they plan to start using the secondary mons a lot more)
Slash (They rarely used scratch so this seems unlikely)
Play Rough
TM:
Take Down (Worse quick attack)
Mud Slap (Don't see it)
Low Kick (Kicking is Quaxly's shtick)
Acrobatics
Disarming Voice (Fuecoco took it)
Aerial Ace
Swift
Low Sweep (Again, Kicking is Quaxly's thing)
Shadow Claw
Thunder Punch
Tera Blast (Please don't)
Egg:
Sucker Punch
If you wanna include Grass moves that aren't leaf based then we've got
Seed Bomb
Energy Ball
Trailblaze (Too similar to quick attack in how the anime uses it IMO)
Bullet Seed
Grass Knot (Very specific use case)
Giga drain
Solar Beam (Recharge time doesnt fit Floragato)
Grassy Glide (Unlikely IMO)
And Grass Pledge (Also Unlikely IMO)
I was bored if you can't tell.

Taking a guess and predicting a third battle, all three kids vs. Larry.
Ideal scenario, they use Kilowattrel, Hattrem and Tinkatink for it.
Manifesting that.

Seed Bomb is the best option and Floragato learns it very early in the games, and also another move to replace Scratch, maybe Acrobatics, Slash or Shadow Claw

Sucker punch will be good for Flora, One its a priority move so it can attack before a Mon can use its move unless they are also using a priority move, 2, coverage so it wont be a sitting duck against types that resist grass.

I do wonder if this is meant to conclude round 1 of the teresral exams. And maybe round 2 will have them feature the secondary mons. Right? Right???
