What to put in a bridesmaid proposal box
Wondering what to put in a bridesmaid proposal box? I decided not to make all theDIY bridesmaid giftsthe same because my girls have very different personalities and interests.
However, I started with the same base for each box because some of the items I found are just too cute not to include! I also recommend put a personal message in each box.
After all, these are your closest friends who you’re asking for help with wedding planning!
Here’s what every box included:
Memory boxes
I’d been eyeing these boxes long before I was engaged, and I thought they would make the perfect canvas for each bridesmaid proposal box. I really love that there’s a slot on the front of each box in which to write each bridesmaid’s name.
Proposal stickers
When I was hunting for DIY bridesmaid proposal ideas, I found these bridesmaid and maid of honor stickers. They’re meant to be slapped onto wine bottles, but I thought they worked perfectly adhered to the inner lid of the memory boxes.
Tie-the-knot bracelets
These bracelets are so pretty and come in silver, gold, and rose gold. Each one hasa pendant engraved with each bridesmaid’s first initial.
Diamond lip gloss
I was so excited when I found these. They were the perfect addition to each will-you-be-my-bridesmaid gift set.I also think these diamond cosmetic jars are adorable. You could put anything from gloss to candy in them!
Diamond ring confetti
I’d purchased diamond ring party toothpicks for our engagement party (check out my post on how to have an engagement party on a budget). I set a few aside before the party and removed the toothpicksso I could addoversized confetti to the boxes.
Ring Pops, Hershey’s Kisses, and Hershey’s Hugs
I had put togetherengagement favorsmade with Ring Pops, Hershey’s Kisses, and Hershey’s Hugs for our engagement party. I made extra so I could add candy to the bridesmaid proposal boxes.
Personalizing the gifts
I decided to put a personalized gift in each box that’s unique to the friend, plus a little something extra in the maid of honor proposal box. Here’s what I decided on.
Hopefully this will help with your bridesmaid proposal box ideas and to help you figure out what to put in a matron of honor proposal box.
Mini sparkling wine and paper straws
My original idea was to put mini bottles of alcohol in each of the bridesmaid proposal boxes.
But my sister doesn’t drink, and my friend Diana likes tea more than wine. Deborah loves wine, but she wasn’table to attend our engagement party, and worried about shipping a glass bottle.
Soonly a couple of the girlsended up getting a bottle of bubbly! I picked mine up at a local liquor store, but you can get mini sparkling bottles online, like these adorable Francis Ford Coppola Mini Blanc de Blancs. I added paper straws for pizzazz.
I also put a mini bottle in Tara’s female groomsman proposal box!
Stemless wine glass
The next best thing to sparkling wine? An indestructible, on-the-go wine glass. I know that Deborah loves evening get togethers with girlfriends and wine, so I thought this was perfect for her.
Tea
I wanted to tie in a celebration beverage to each of the boxes.
Pukka tea has personal meaning to Diana and I, since she was the one to introduce me to this Britishcompany years ago. She used to bring it back from her trips abroad for me, long before it was easily available in our own country!
For Janice, I chose a tea with a “balance” theme. One of Janice’s choice exercises is yoga, and I figured a tea that could help bring additional center to her life would be appreciated.
Coffee
My future sister-in-law, Sara, is more of a coffee than tea drinker so I included caramel-flavored Starbucks ground coffee in her box.
Mug
What better to pair with coffee or tea than an adorable mug? I chosea mug that says “Shine” for Sara. The mug matches one that we got for her husband, Frank, asone of his groomsmen proposal ideas.
Journal
Because Janice traveled to attend both of our engagement parties, I wanted to add an additional gift to her maid of honor gift box as a sign of appreciation. I love that products from Global Goods are handmade by women who are working in sustainable jobs.
And I figured that as maid of honor, she may find a journal useful!
Bath bomb
Mandeis a fan of bath bombs (and I think the mermaidtailis cute), so I added one to her bridesmaid proposal box.
