archangel29 join:2003-12-22 Goodyear, AZ	archangel29 Member 2005-Aug-2 3:38 am [AZ] I Have The Premier Package Yet It Still Goes Slow My upload is great you know it hovers at about 900-985 kb per sec but my download goes up and down all the time one test will be really slow then i retry the test again and then it maxs out. Sometimes it doesnt even work at all it cant get the time of day from the server it says ********** 6-Notice D501.10 TFTP, Unknown SNMP 30 12 06 0D 2B 06 01 04 01 A0 13 0A 01 01 01 06 and most of the time it says this ******** 7-Information H501.12 HFC: FEC LOCK recovery OK ******** 3-Critical T5.0 SYNC Timing Synchronization failure - Loss of Sync ******** 3-Critical H501.4 HFC: LOST TRC SYNC- trying to recover ******** 7-Information H501.12 HFC: FEC LOCK recovery OK ******** 3-Critical T5.0 SYNC Timing Synchronization failure - Loss of Sync ********** 3-Critical H501.4 HFC: LOST TRC SYNC- trying to recover over and over again i would like to see the speeds promised by cox but just cant seem to get them. Sometimes it goes fast but most of the time it doesnt even work. I think it might be time to get a new modem

ANonDude @cox.net	ANonDude to archangel29 Anon 2005-Aug-2 3:48 am to archangel29 Your signals are way out of wack, Your signal to noise needs to be above 30, Your Downstream power level is bad, At -20 your modem will drop, And your upstream is also bad, At 55 your modem will drop... basically everything is really bad. You may be able to fix it but more than likely you need to have a tech out... What is your wiring setup, Splitters, Cables etc.....

archangel29 join:2003-12-22 Goodyear, AZ	archangel29 Member 2005-Aug-2 3:54 am wire out of wall to a two way splitter one goes to the tv the other to cable modem. so i should get a tech out here to look at the lines. man i just moved here the other day and got the internet hooked up. i havent really gotten a chance to get back on xbox live because of this. so a tech should be able to clear this up

Then comes inside. i really wanted the premium because the of the upstream for xbox live because i will get host most of the time. i really hope a tech can fix this up

If you have a TV in more than one room in the house, you have more than one splitter on the line. Take the splitter you have in the room with the modem off, and connect it directly to the wall. Reboot it, and post the signal strength.

Normally I would suggest that you go to the drop, and test the speed there, but it might just be faster, and more effective in your situation to have a tech look at it for you.

If possible have him replace the line from the pole to the house. I had that issue with many truck rolls and they finally realized that the line from the pole needed to be changed and that solved all of my issues.
